About Toluene
An aromatic solvent (methylbenzene) used in paint thinners, adhesives, and as a gasoline octane booster. It is appreciably less carcinogenic than benzene because the methyl substituent blocks the metabolic activation pathway, yet it still causes CNS effects at high vapour concentrations.
