About D-Fructose

The sweetest of the common monosaccharides, found in honey and fruit, and an isomer of glucose with a ketone group rather than an aldehyde. It enters glycolysis downstream of the regulated phosphofructokinase step, so it is metabolised rapidly and without the same feedback control.
